ST. HEDWIG FOUNDATION
WHAT WE DO
About the Foundation
It was established in order to implement actions to build a peaceful Europe, based on formal and informal education, with an emphasis on artistic, historical and political education, including people with disabilities.
The goal of the Foundation is educational activity, supporting civic, cultural and educational initiatives, especially those aimed at understanding between nations, generations and European integration, as well as the formation of a civic society. We implement them, among others by running a kindergarten and the Morawa International Meeting Center, as well as by implementing educational projects for the local community and people of senior age.
Pre-school education
For 25 years, the Foundation has been running the Private Kindergarten of St. Jadwiga.
Ecological education
The Foundation implements projects aimed at hortiotherapists, people with disabilities, seniors and youth from schools with a horticultural and agricultural profile.
Senior education
We increase the participation of older people in active forms of spending free time, improve the quality and standard of living of seniors to aging in dignity.
Intercultural education
We run the Morawa International Meeting Center, where groups of all ages have the opportunity to meet, get to know each other and cooperate.
Music education
The Summer Academy of Music and the St. Hedwig International Violin Competition are held in Morawa.
Our projects
Ty i ja - moja i Twoja historia - odNOWA is a project aimed at increasing the participation of older people in active leisure activities, improving the quality and standard of living of seniors to aging well thanks to a tailored educational offer. It is to serve the purpose of emotional strengthening and development of activity, introduce active intra-generational integration and use the potential of the elderly.
The Foundation received funding from the National Freedom Institute for the development of the Morawa International Meeting Center. As part of this fund, seminar rooms will be renovated and equipped, and projects based on visual arts will be organized.
We have experience in organizing music projects. We have large practice and concert halls as well as two pianos and two upright pianos. We work with many institutions that are willing to organize concerts with us. Every year, we invite musically talented young people from Poland, Germany and Ukraine to Morawa to train together at our International Meeting Center Morawa, and then to play concerts throughout Lower Silesia.
The International Art Symposium "Was, is and will be" is an event organized by the Academy of Fine Arts. E. Geppert in Wrocław, which took the form of an open air, when the Manor in Morawa becomes a laboratory and an art gallery.
