Development of International Meeting Centers

In 2021, the Morawa International Meeting Center received funding in the National Institute of Freedom's competition for the development of existing international meetinghouses. The main goal of this program is to promote networking between societies in the EU and beyond, to promote solidarity and intercultural understanding, and to disseminate the national heritage of Poles and the history of Poland. The subject of the competition is to enable the creation of the MDS network with a high-quality program offer, consistent with the goals of the educational and foreign policy of the Polish state, following contemporary social challenges and the labor market and education.

As part of the funding, we plan to renovate and equip our seminar rooms with professional equipment, so that they can also perform exhibition functions. Then, in our MDS, exchanges based on visual arts will be organized. As speakers at the seminars, we anticipate recognized authorities in the world of art history, contemporary history, literature, art and cultural studies. The program will be targeted especially at students up to the age of 26. from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who will be able to develop their skills, among others during the plein-airs. Adapting our seminar rooms to exhibition purposes will also enable the exhibition of works created within our walls. Then the works will be shown at the Stara Kopalnia Art Center in Wałbrzych and at the SCK in Strzegom. Thanks to this, we will enable the local community to participate in cultural events and interact with the so-called high culture. We will promote networking, solidarity and intercultural understanding, and thanks to our choice of art and the theme of works of art lost during World War II, we will promote the national heritage and history of Poland.
